Providing sensory play not only provides stimulation which is an important part of development, but it is a good opportunity for the baby and parent to bond.
Lights and music can have a calming effect on the baby, which makes their experiences enjoyable and relaxing. You could even try this at bath time.
Did you know that sensory play is proven to help develop a baby’s brain? By providing different types of stimulation, the baby will learn more about the world around them.
Sensory play doesn’t have to be expensive to be fun. Blowing bubbles, waving scarves and ribbon in front of your baby and letting them feel them against their skin, taking them for a walk in the pram, tummy time, and black and white picture cares are just some of the things you can enjoy with your baby.
If you enjoy being creative and like getting messy, why not get stuck in and make memorable hand and footprints or enjoy messy play with everyday items that you can find in your cupboards?
After all, they are only little once.
