Father’s Day

20th June 2022

It was Father’s Day yesterday. It is held every year on the third Sunday of June; this year Father’s Day fell on Sunday, June 19th in the UK. Father’s Day was first celebrated officially in Spokane, America on the 19th of June 1910.

Lots of people see Father’s Day as the perfect opportunity to make a special effort to celebrate their father, or someone who is a father figure in their life. As family structures have changed, we have adapted as a society, and this day allows us to thank those who have stepped up and looked after us, regardless of genes.

Typically, this is also a good reason to get the family together, so as well as celebrating our fathers we also hopefully get to reconnect with other loved ones as well.

Here is a poem that each of the Dad’s at Amber Family received yesterday on behalf of their children!
